A Canadian fisherman has recently spotted something unexpected on the coast of New Brunswick. It was a rather unusual lobster, with a Pepsi logo tattooed on its claw, showing just how much junk humans are throwing into the oceans on a daily basis.
Karissa Lindstrand, the fisherman who took the unusual picture told CBC that she doesn’t know how this happened.
“I was like: ‘Oh, that’s a Pepsi can’. It seemed more like a tattoo or a drawing, rather than something growing into it”, said Linstrand.
While with her crew on their boat called “Honour Bound”, Karissa found this weird lobster. She also claimed that she was a huge Pepsi fan, drinking up to 12 cans of the beverage a day. However, this might not be such a good advert for Pepsi.
This fisherman and her crew caught the lobster last month, but at that moment they didn’t know how to explain this strange appearance on the creature. Some of the possible explanations might be that a can or box of Pepsi got stuck on the lobster’s claw while it was growing. The logo was pixelated, which definitely means it came from a printed picture.
This story is shocking, but what is almost as shocking is the woman who found the lobster recognized the can because she drinks 12 cans of Pepsi A DAY. https://t.co/83SsoJqbou

Unfortunately, the lobster was later sold, along with the other lobsters caught that day, but this unusual sight highlights the amount of garbage we are throwing in the ocean.
It’s a devastating fact that more than 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic trash are already thrown in the seas, which means that by 2050 the amount of garbage will outweigh the number of fish. This poor creature was one of the victims of the plastic pollution we are causing. This material can be dangerous to animals who often mistake it for food. According to this, and many other examples, it can even change their appearance.
