8 Secret Android Functions 90% of Users Don’t Know About

Smartphones are indispensable nowadays. Despite the whole drama, most people have no idea what Android is actually capable of.

So we decided we should share the excitement. Below are the 8 most awesome features of Android (according to us at least 🙂 )

Head movements to control your phone


Smart folks invented this. It’s cold and it’s weary outside. You don’t wanna take your hands out of your pocket. Not to worry. All you need to do is download EVA Facial Mouse and you can control you phone with your head. How to install here.

Hidden Game 🙂

Ever since 2.3 Gingerbread, there is a present from google embedded within the devices of users. To find it:

Settings > About Phone/Tablet > Quickly Tap Android Version Several Times > Marshmallow will appear. Click it 🙂

Activating a hotspot

You don’t need a Modem or Router especially when on the go. Settings > Tethering > Turn on Portable WLAN Hotspot 🙂

Battery Saver

Quite simple really. Pick a black background. Highlighting pixels will not be turned on. Thus the device will conserve a lot more power. Don’t know whether the feature is available on all phones, but we know for a fact that most of the Samsung phones have it. Try it and see 🙂

Let the phone do the reading for you – Text to speech

This is for the lazy ones 🙂 If you prefer to have everything read to you instead of seeing, go to settings > accessibility and turn on text to speech 🙂

Guest Mode

If you want to keep your life private. Imagine you need to give your phone to someone but you don’t want them to poke around. Then you definitely need Guest Mode. Swipe down from the top with two fingers > click on the user icon on the upper right > Add Guest Icon will pop up – click it > Choose what can the person see

Screen Magnifier

Really helpful if you have eye impairment. Settings > Accessibility > Magnification Gestures – this will be a life saver 🙂

Remote Control Your Smartphone 

Settings -> Security -> Device administrators – Click on the boxes which are located next to Android Device Manager. Even if you lose your phone, you can now locate and block it through here.
